About Me

I’m a mom, DIY enthusiast, and the creative mind behind this little corner of the internet where I share our journey renovating and decorating our 1895 Chicago home.

But this blog didn’t start because I always planned to become a DIYer.

After becoming a mom, I found myself feeling a little lost. I loved my daughter deeply, but the days started to feel repetitive and I struggled with that quiet loss of identity that so many parents experience when life suddenly revolves around caring for a tiny human.

Then one day I decided to try a small DIY project in our home.

That one project led to another, and before I knew it I had discovered something I didn’t even realize I was missing—a creative outlet that made me feel excited again. I started learning new skills, picking up tools, and slowly transforming spaces in our home with my own two hands.

And something shifted.

Every day no longer felt the same. There was always a new idea, a new project, or something I was excited to create.

Now I document that journey here.

Around here you’ll find DIY tutorials, renovation projects, and design inspiration as we update our home room by room. I share the real process—including the mistakes, the lessons learned, and the small wins along the way—because I truly believe DIY should feel approachable, not intimidating.

You don’t need to be a professional contractor to create a home you love.

More than anything, I hope this space inspires other parents—especially those in the thick of raising little ones—to try the DIY projects they’ve been thinking about. Creating something with your hands can be incredibly fulfilling, and sometimes it’s exactly the spark you didn’t know you needed.

Our home is also full of real life. My husband and I are raising two little girls here, which means renovations often happen during nap time, after bedtime, or in the middle of everyday family chaos.

But that’s part of the story too.

Because at the end of the day, this isn’t just about renovating a house.

It’s about creating a home that works for our family and filling it with memories along the way.

I’m so glad you’re here.
